Brett started in the insurance business at a very young age as an agent for American Family in 1999. He quickly branched out and started his own independent agency and has been located right here in Milford ever since. He holds a Property and Casualty license as well as Life and Health. Brett is our agency’s Dave Ramsey Endorsed Local Provider and has been listening to Dave’s show for years. With the heart of a teacher, Brett is able to explain coverage and help walk you through your decision making process. Focusing on both personal lines and commercial lines, Brett is able to help cover our customers completely and totally and help with any situation. From life insurance to small business to home and auto, Brett is a man of many talents. He is the high school soccer coach for Goshen and a fan of the Bengals and FC Cincinnati. What differentiates BIG Agency and Me from other insurance brokers?
My early appreciation of sales and serving customers started early. At the age of twelve, I sold peanuts and popcorn at Crosley Field and later at RiverFront Stadium.
I attended the University of Cincinnati as a business major while achieving a major goal of playing baseball under the coach Glenn Sample as a walk-on player.
Because customer service remained my focus, this played a role in my decision to enter the hospitality industry as a restaurant manager. I was in Nashville, Tenn when I began my restaurant management career with Waffle House. While in Nashville, I was selected by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to become a business and insurance advisor to restaurant owners. I started in the restaurant industry as an assistant manager, and later as a regional multi unit manager, I developed many of my skills I use daily in my Insurance business. Such skills as cost management, managing food distribution, operational and sales planning, HR skills, developing training programs for my managers, multi-tasking, ability to interact and network with diverse groups, and my keen ability to make fast, clear and decisive decisions.
During my twenty years in the insurance business of building my solid reputation of service and knowledge, I used various methods to market my business. One that was very effective was posting articles under my pen name, As The Insurance Man. They were featured in many community newsletters, The Cincinnati Herald, The Israelite, and The Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. Also, as a smart businessman, I developed other profitable and sustainable niche markets too. They are the auto services industry, professional offices, retail, technology, veterinarian & pet care, wholesales-distributors, service industry, Medium size machine shops, construction contractors, and multi- apartment units and condos.
As your insurance advisor, my first responsibility will be to gain a thorough understanding of how your business operates, along with understanding your business management team that supports your operation. This is my process because I am very much aware that you have risked a lot, no, everything to start and stay in your business. That is why, if needed, I will collaborate with both your accountant and your lawyer on your behalf to ensure your success.
Lastly, my total responsibility to you is to select the right business insurance coverages that will not only protect the assets of your business but will also shield and protect the personal assets of the business owner.
Our office manager and also a licensed Property & Casualty agent, Melissa has been with the BIG Agency just about five years. With a background in Information Technology and Customer Service, she’s an asset to the agency. You’ll find Melissa’s smiling face answering the phones and working the front desk. A graduate from the University of Cincinnati, she holds dual degrees in Computer Programming and Business Administration. Melissa’s primary goal is to not just treat you as a number or just sell you a policy, but to help you fully understand your coverage and how your policy works. She wants to make sure that you have the very best policy with the coverage you need at a rate that won’t break your budget! Melissa is a huge Dave Ramsey fan and hosted Financial Peace University in 2017. Melissa primarily focuses on sales of personal lines and classic, collector and antique automobile insurance. When she’s not at the office, you’ll find her at a local car show, baking up something delicious, or the nearest country concert.
Brittany came to our agency in January of 2017 with over ten years customer service experience in the insurance field. She started at age 17 doing office work and worked her way up to customer service and commercial insurance applications. After spending some years teaching preschool and some life changes (including getting married and having a baby!) she is currently back in the insurance field. Our Customer Service representative, you’ll find her answering the phones, taking payments in our office and working on new quotes.
